Squash is a wonderful source of vitamin A and folate, and many babies love the sweet but mild taste. When roasted, squash retains a lot of nutrients.
This "recipe" is great for babies just starting solids! All you need is some water and a squash (butternut and acorn are great, flavourful options).
1. Cut squash in half and scoop out seeds.
2. Place the halves face-down in a baking dish with about an inch of water.
3. Bake at 400 ° for 35-40 minutes, or until the skin looks puckered and has darkened slightly.
4. Let cool and scoop out the flesh.
5. Puree, mash or cut in chunks according to your baby’s age and experience with solids.
